It has become clear to us that veterinary forensics are essential for every jurisdiction committed to effective and comprehensive animal cruelty investigations. Some jurisdictions are creating task forces and investing in prevention and prosecution, including through animal forensics. I conducted a survey on the future of animal cruelty investigations earlier this year. Animal cruelty is an urgent public safety matter that deserves the careful attention of our law enforcement and political leaders. And we can all support robust, well-resourced animal cruelty investigations.
